I blog everyday, do you?


This is now a very common term among youth today. If you still want to know what blog is all about then let me explain, a blog is a website where post are written in chronological order and commonly displayed in reverse chronological order. Many blogs provide commentary or news on a particular subject such as food, politics, or local news; some times it regards as personal online diaries. A typical blog combines text, images, and links to other blogs, web pages, and other media related to its topic. The ability for readers to leave comments in an interactive format is an important part of blogs. As of September 2007, blog search engine Technorati was tracking more than 106 million blogs pages.

Word “blog,” was coined by Peter Merholz, who jokingly broke the word “weblog” into the phrase we blog in his blog peterme.com in April 1999. This was rapidly adopted by other weblogers. Blog also means “to edit one’s weblog or to post to one’s weblog.

There are different types of blog you found on internet, they can be classified into various categories, like a blog which contains Video is called Vblog, and blogs containing audio files called Podcasting blog. One comprising links is called a Linkblog, a site containing a portfolio of sketches is called a Sketchblog or one comprising photos is called a Photoblog. Blogs can also be defined by which type of device is used to compose it. A blog written by a mobile device like a mobile phone or PDA is called a Moblog

Blogging in India is still not as trendy as in west. I would like to mention here few blog which popular amongst people. One of them is Indiauncut.com published by Amit Verma. This former editor of cricinfo.com writes about almost everything. The other one which There is one more blog Desipundit.com which is actually a collection for the best of Indian blogosphere. Rashmi Bansal, publisher of a popular youth magazine called JAM write a blog which covers topics affecting youth, as it title says it all youthcurry.com.

Samir Lal from Canada write a blog which is very unique in one sense, this complete blog he writes is in Hindi, he named it Udantashtari. His blog has won “Best Hindi Blog” for 2006 and he also bagged the “Best New Blogger Award” for the same year. This is the best gift for all those folk who search for some good Hindi article on internet.

The coming out of blogging has brought many controversies, legal battles and other often unforeseen consequences. bloggers releasing confidential information, employees who blog about aspects of their place of employment and bloggers you write about their personal lives which include the reference of other people who might not want to expose events which bloggers reveals, This give birth to adverse consequences or sometimes loss of employment too. One such incident which remembers now is when Gaurav Sabnis an employee of IMB India expose in his post so called false claims about a management school IIPM. The Management of IIPM threatening to burn their IBM laptops as a sign of protest against him. This led to the resignation of Gaurav from his services to IBM India(see more…)

But still blogging can be use for raising issue of public concerned like this one which I found very interesting churmuri.com, a blog published by Krishna Prashad in support for recognition to Malgudi Man R K Narayan. So if you are interested in writing and have a good writing skill but never got a chance to publish then blogging is for you. There are various sites which can guide you through how to create a blog, besides there are so many other sites which provide various blogging templates and blog software which help you to publish whatever you wish, a new blog everyday
