Pope Now Gets His Own YouTube Channel

vatican

Vatican Pope now has its own YouTube Channel. I’m very happy to see this as now I can approach Pope More often.

“Today is a day that writes a new page in history for the Holy See,” Vatican Radio said in describing the launch of the site, http://www.youtube.com/vatican. The Vatican said that with the YouTube channel, it hoped to broaden and unite the pontiff’s audience – an estimated 1.4 billion people are online worldwide – while giving the Holy See better control over the pope’s Internet image.

Also http://www.youtube.com/whitehouse has its new President’s first Weekly Address. Yes you can Barack every week on this YouTube Channel.

I will not be surprised if the Catholic churches will install a big monitor to let the people see and hear the Pope. Technology is going all the way to heaven. :-)

  2. That was the natural thing to do, since everyone its getting on the web and Video is the number one activity on the web and not precisely to watch positive info.

Been a Catholic myself, I think its cool, now watching the Pope on the net.

I guess the internet is winning them over, lol

Who knows if the pope will browse other youtube channels too while he’s getting ready to broadcast his.

  4. Oh my goodness.. the internet has reached the Vatican!!! As if there isn´t enough on television, now everyone can go online and see the same things all over again!! It will help with world news I suppose.. people who don´t have enough time to watch the news, might go online during their lunch break and catch up!

  5. good to know that people are embrassing the new web technologies

  6. That’s hilarious. I’ve heard about these and it just goes to show how much internet is taking over our society. When the pope and president have youtube accounts, you know that social networking is here to stay. More and more celebs are starting twitters and blogs, I wonder what the next big thing will be, that will cause people to flock to. Web 3.0, I’m waiting with bated breath.
