Are you dreaming to make hell lot of money from the very first day of your blogging? Do you wish that you will start your blog on Sunday and by the weekend your PayPal account will be flooded with American dollars? Are you inspired by those “Become Rich Overnight” stories and wish to buy your first Mercedes Benz within the first fortnight of starting of your blog.
Well truly speaking you can dream of anything you wish but the hard reality is that it’s next to impossible to make all these dreams turn in reality possible as fast (I wish all good luck to you though). People spend years of hard work to earn their first penny from their online business.
Why most of the people fail at online business?
They dream of making quick money. They think it’s easy to start it all and make hand full of money without giving much pain to their butt, but the hard reality is that you have to work hard to establish your web presence first, you need to make yourself up and above of hundred and thousands of other newbie who will follow you and your recommendation.
- I know it took me several months to sell my first affiliate product.
- I remember it took me a year to sell my first private ad on this blog.
- I remember it took me almost one year and nearly 400 articles base when someone included my review in testimonial with industries “A” Lister bloggers and internet marketers.
Nothing comes in life easy
You need to build a strong and deep foundation, like
It just like when you see a beautiful building you must realize the huge amount of hard work that has been gone into structuring its sturdy foundation.

Break-Even Point
You must have learned about this if you are a commerce graduate, break-even point is where total costs is equals to total sales revenue and the company neither makes a profit nor suffers a loss.
Some time it took a business owner several hard and tough months to reach to a breakeven point level, after that you can expect your profits. The same goes with blogging and online business. You need to put in extra efforts, your time and lot of energy to get yourself up to a level where you can demand money.
So in a nutshell I advise any newbie in the business or to someone who wish a start an online business
- It’s very hard believe me ( forget about those overnight rich stories)
- Do not expect any money in first few months
- Vigorously work without making any money for several months or years for that matter.
- Keep trying, there are no shortcuts to success.
- I guarantee, you if you do not rest and keep on doing hard work one day you will get there
To your blogging success

Hey Shanker
Its been a long while since I commented on your blog. I have watched and read your posts but got lazy in commenting.
I can understand where you are comming from. I myself thought wow how hard can this be abnd sadky found out its not that easy.
My problem was not sticking with one product and trying to promote the next big thing. I think most newbies do this and regretfully don’t make anything.
I also know that you can promote without a list but it takes more effort than just sending one mail to your list.
I now concertrate at promoting one thing and making it profitable then move onto the next one. Building a list is also a good thing because it make promoting products a whole lots easier.
Good to see you back Bruno. Fast Cash now is a good product to promote, i guess you are doing good with it.
Thanks for this post.
It reminds me that I should keep on building my site before pursuing another one.
i see . i feel lucky after read this post . i sold my first affiliate product far before i have a blog. i got my first ads advertiser 2 month after my blog start

This is a very good post Shanker.. Many people dream of becoming rich overnight… They never succeed.. Only people who are successful are those who can plan and implement them..
“They dream of making quick money”. This phrase reminds of a blogger who thought that blogging is easy money, but failed to blog anymore in the long run cos money didn’t come. As for myself, I’m determined now to earn a little bit from my blog and I wish to learn more about promoting products. So keep posting articles like this. It’s good that you pointed out that hardwork is required to gain success.
Yes, Making money through blogging is not easy.
Work are of two types :
1. What we do because we have to do And money is primary.
2. What we do because we love to do And money is secondary.
Money is present always.
Each one is earning money small or big but the difference is whether we do what we love to do ?
If yes, forget money And continue doing. Punctuality/discipline is important.
I do what I love to do And till circumstances favours I will do what I want to do no matter money is present or not.
Or,
May be I do not know how to earn money but I am not worried.
It’s the hard truth Shanker and it needs to be said every now and then. I’ve been online since the Widows operating system was 3.0 and the floppy disc was a new innovative miracle and it was years before I even considered making money online.
I have several blogs and I enjoy them a lot. If money was my incentive to blog they would all be closed by now. I earn almost all of my money outside of my blogs. Sure, a little trickles in every now and then but nothing to get excited about. I don’t think blogging is ideally suited for making a significant online profit. Sure there are a few exceptions but for the most part blogging is a place to make friends and learn/teach how to make money. And then, like you said, it takes time and work.
Right on, Shanker. There’s no shortcuts or tricks to make your first pail of gold through the online world. Remember, our hard works will finally pays off, if you keep trying and didn’t give up easily!
Nice and simple guest post at John Chow’s buddy. I hadn’t visited his blog for a while but now did
I agree with all your five points there… For someone like me where blogging after eight or ten hours of job (career) is like a very secondary thing. So I would add ‘lack of time’ as one of the causes of not picking the momentum.
Breakeven, though, is something I always keep a watch on. I have made it clear that I will not spend anythting other than a couple of hours a day to MMO… haven’t even spend money on any ads or promotion… all that I spend is the hosting money. So whatever I get back is like bonus
very attractive title, who doesnt think and want to become rich overnight ?
The posts here are very inspirational and waiitng to read about affiliate marketing as i am new to it and havent tried till now
thnks for the post.. me will try to focus on mine present blog before thinking of maiking another one
Very motivating post. All bloggers have same dream.I agree that there is no shorcut, we have to wait for having enough amt of money. Blogging is more like smart working then hard working.
Waiting to know about affiliate marketing , I don’t have enough knowledge abt it yet. Post soon .
Nothing become in overnight (besides dreams).
I am really needing to become wealthy over night any great ideas? And this is very serious…
I too have been caught up in the visions of overnight success. More often than not, though, I find myself fast asleep on my keyboard. The last thing I remember is thinking…I just read this last sales letter…this has to be it. I now spend my days doing mostly marketing and only allow 1 hour for chasing after the shiny new things. Shanker – Thank you for an inspiring post. Back to work now
What was the first affiliate product you promoted Shanker? An overview or tips on how to start (step by step for those of us with L plates) would be very much appreciated when you get a spare moment.
The main hurdle in blogging is that, we need to publish at least 500 posts to our blog, in order to generate enough visitors to make sales. And, it takes at least a year. If anyone have some investment then he or she can purchase blog content from blog content providers and publish them at once. It is like you will achieve your 1 year target in one month.
Some people might actually get lucky and can make their first money in 1 month. But usually this is done by those who have tried making money online before so they already know about the game
Hi Shanker,
I am an noob blogger. After reading your blog i get some basics of the blogging community. I blog @http://parttime-moneyjobs.blogspot.com/ but not sure about the direction of my future blogging can you give me some tips.
Regards
Ankit Govil
Seems to me that most who make money with blogs, write about how to make money with blogs. Furthermore, some exaggerate their success, in order to give a positive impression./
Working hard and implementing is a must, but none of this guarantees the kind of success you can quit you day job over. After the hard work, comes the luck (timming), as the saying goes. You must have some “chance” reach you for your hard work to catch on…
We mostly hear and judge success by the few success stories we hear, but we don’t hear about the thousands who did equal hard work, but didn’t make it. That is called chance.. Many successful people dont like to admit that if it were not for a large amount of chance and luck, they would of failed like the rest…
Of course, hard work also pays of.. sometimes..
some people are rich when they born from mother .for example people who are in swiss or swed compair with people in afganistan or north korea and cuba . for becoming rich it depends on which country u live in first then u should work so hard nobody gives u a penny without work or money doesnt fall from sky.
