How Google Rates Links from Twitter and FaceBook?
A few days back one of my friend ask this on FaceBook page Chat do twitter or Facebook really helps building traffic to a blog and how Google treats these back links from Facebook to a website. Matt Cuts , senior Engineer Google clear this in a WebmasterToolHelp Video. Question is “Links from relevant and important sites have always been a great way to get traffic & acceptance for a website. How do you rate links from new platforms like Twitter, FB to a website?” . Here is what he says;
So now you know how helpful Twitter and Facebook are for building trageted traffic and if you use it smartly with Hashtags, keywords and get your posts twetted from reputable twitter pages you can get the link Juice too.

I would not be surprised if they had a special algorithm for such massive websites. Especially when Google started including Tweets in latest news on SERP pages.

I always thought Google holds special preference to sites like FB and Twitter, since they are such high PR.
Thank god, I don’t do much of twitter or fb… No point at all. However, public profile pages – as Matt suggested – may be of some good if the top level domain there in is a reputed site.

Well twitter links may not be very useful alone but once they ge retwetted they can get some PR value
