If you missed the first part of this series below is the link;

We have learn about Affiliate Marketing in first part of this series, In this second part we will learn about Affiliate Networks and how to choose which one suits you.

Introduction to Affiliate Networks;

Affiliate Networks are bridge between Merchant and Publishers. In affiliate marketing you just need to promote products and do not actually create your own products. So you need a platform where you meet  merchants and select products which you wants to promote.

Before signing up to any of the affiliate Network you check up following things;

  • How is their support service, i mean if you need to ask any question, are they available to resolve your quarries via email, live chat or by any other way.
  • What sort of information available in Knowledge Base or FAQ section. Some time you learn and learn together.
  • All leading Affiliate Network now assign a specific Affiliate Manager with each individual Affiliate who join their network, Check out if that is there.
  • Who is promoting that Affiliate Network, i mean if there any big name pushing it up, or you can say how popular that network is among big boys of affiliate marketing industry.

Based on my experience I recommend following affiliate Network to join;

After Signing up with any one of above affiliate Network navigate your admin area to get familiar with the reporting functions, try to find out which sort of offer are performing best and which offers are currently available to you. You need to know the pricing model on the basis of which you will get paid;

You must also get familiar with payment method a merchant choose to pay you for your affiliate efforts;

  • Pay Per Impression (CPM)
  • Pay Per Click (PPC)
  • Pay Per Sale

In Pay Per Impression (CPM) you will get paid for every 1000 Impressions of your merchants advertisement. say the CPM rate is $0.25 and advertisement on your site gets 3000 impressions then you will receive a commission of 1000 x 0.25.

In Pay Per Click (PPC) rate you will get paid for every single click that an affiliate advertisement gets. a very simple and straight forward method of payment.

In Pay Per Sale method you get commission when visitor click on your affiliate link land on merchant’s site and buy products. You will get paid only for the actual sale you made through your affiliate link.  Well this is the most commonly used method as every merchant is interested in sale. more then 70% price model are based on Pay Per Sale method.

for detail study of these method read my following post on the subject;

Hope by now you have understand the affiliate marketing and about affiliate network and various pricing methods.

    You might missed CPA (Cost Per Action) up there. This is like a very nice blueprint for anyone who wants to get start up on affiliate marketing.

  4. I have good experience with Clickbank, shareasale and e-junkie. I tried commission junction long back and definitely it’s one of the best. I have no experience with market leverage but my pepperjam experiences was really bad with not much conversions.

  5. If this industry keeps growing the way it seems to be, getting started now will give you leverage on the two tier system. More and more people want to have a home business and selling electronic information is becoming very popular

    You’re so familiar with affiliate networking. I think pay per sale is kind of slow income flow. But the other two are better. Soon I’ll be joining those sites you mentioned.

  7. That’s a huge bunch of Sites which will let you find niche affiliate program. Out of all I use Cj and one other which I use is Ejunkie….
    Mostly I get direct affiliate links from services or softwares….
    One thing which you I liked about Cj is commission is more than what we get from direct website..
    For ex: Hostgator website pays 50-125$ for sales (depeding on no. of sales) where as if u sign up for aff via Cj, you get flat payout as 100$.
