When one of my friend was analyzing through his ClickBank product sales report, he found a very unusual thing, those affiliates who wrote negative reviews about his product, sold more copies of it then those who wrote positive reviews or recommended it to their readers. Let us try to find out how and why this formula worked for those guys who wrote negative reviews about the product but managed to convert more leads than others.
# 1 People check for negative review before buying a product
And this is very much true, people always search before buying a product as if it is good for them? or are there any group of people who had bad experience with that product or quoting bad remarks about it. If your post title says anything negative there are chances that more people will open it and dig out to know why you are saying that. You can then state somewhere in your post that “this is my view on this product and your experience may be different from it ” or something of that sort, surely people will try to find out what’s the real issue.
#2 Don’t try to create hype with too good to believe statement
People now don’t believe on statements like ” hey it has completely change my life, I have earned ….with it, or you can not find any such product, this product can make miracle in your life”. Well I believe readers are getting sick of such statements, so be realistic and tell them the bad part of a product, if it is really there ( because everyone else is singing good songs about it), and that will also make your review look realistic and unique.
#3 A negative title catches more attention;
Most of the time it works, open rate for a negative title reviews are more. A negative remark hit hard. A positive review always give you some kind of idea what you find when you will go through it, whereas you always curious to know; what is in there; when you pitch it with a negative title/headline.
#4 Conclusion
A negative review may work but I would advice you not to be negative about every product you review, praise it- if you like it, be fair, up to the mark and if possible test it before saying anything about it.
That is pretty cool. Negativity and conflict do drive traffic. So it makes sense to play off it.
