Having an identity in the blogosphere is to have a visual  profile that lets people know you and your work through your blog.

Your readers know who you are and what you do?

The blogosphere is common to find blogs without identifying the author or any information you give more details about who writes them. However, this identification is important to make public the authorship of the work done on a blog.

THE ADVANTAGES OF KNOWING THE AUTHOR OF A BLOG

  • Know who writes the blog brings more credibility – This is especially important for niche specific blogs, because people expect that the author has some special knowledge or motivation to write about a certain subject.
  • Natural Association and author of the blog - The public associates and remembers more easily author and the work that develops when it is clear that he is the author of that blog, some people tend to remember “so and so’s blog about”
  • Loyalty Readers - The reader tends to follow more the blog that they already knows a little about the author about the work and is easy to get in touch with him, it gives more transparency to the blog and brings the reader of the blog author.
  • Widen the network of professional contacts – A person who writes or reads about a particular subject usually tries to find blogs and authors who develop the same kind of work or talk about things that interest you, this information enables the professional contacts because be easier to find writers with similar themes.
  • Increases customer – If the author develops some kind of work in online or off, in so far as it identifies the blog stating your qualifications, experience, expertise, current projects and work performed, the greater chance you have to convince the customer to purchase a their services or products, because people tend to buy products or hire services to people they know and a way to do know about is exposing himself on the blog.

There are several ways to create or strengthen an identity in the blogosphere, we show below some things that can be done inside and outside the blog to improve your identity and allow you to be more known in which it operates.

INSIDE THE BLOG

1.Create a blog name and register a domain that is equivalent to the content of the blog - The same way that people associate the author of the blog, the same must happen with respect to content, or the name and domain to be used should match the content because it helps the reader to remember that certain content can find it on a particular blog. If you already have a domain registration and, ideally, at least the description of the blog content indicates that it covers.  But avoid using in your blog a name brand or service companies to avoid legal problems with the misuse of a mark.

2.Use one name  for the author of the blog – Avoid the use of certain words to identify the author of a blog, such as administrator, editor, writer, and the like, prefer a name or a nickname to identify themselves in blog posts.

3. Create a profile, an image, or a logo – Is important to have a profile picture or a logo for display on the blog, this creates a visual identity for the blog and help in the recognition of the blog and its author by the reader.

4. Create a post or a static page that talks about you - This space you must have basic information about the author, such as: name, training, exercising professional activities, interests, goals and intentions in the blogosphere and on going projects.  In addition to creating this space is essential to keep it current, accurate and objective information about the author, because at some point this information could form the basis for a future business contact, a partnership or an invitation to the interesting blogger.

5. Create a contact form to the blog – Creating an easy way for people to get in touch with the author of the blog is very useful, especially in the moments that you wish to contract services and business contacts.

OUTSIDE THE BLOG

1. Identify yourself in the email signature - As important as having a contact form is to have a specific email to the blog and even create a signature, it is recommended to place the name, twitter and blog address in the signature. The Gmail offers up custom signature option.

2. Help someone or do some volunteer work on the Internet - If the blogger have any specific knowledge that can help anyone on the Internet a good tip is to search specific forums for this, help helps publicize the name or mark and still be within the type of information that is sought and thus allowing the creation of new content to your blog. Moreover, people ready to resolve problem situations are most valued today, and requested that work in the middle known.

3. Work these relationships in the blogosphere - Browse interact with their readers and other bloggers, cultivate good relations in the blogosphere.

4. Show up on social networks and channels of communication and interaction – Being on the Internet today requires the presence on social networks and other channels of communication and interaction, especially if the goal is ever-increasing visibility of the work being done.

Finally, note that there is much to be gained from a blog than money, but for you to achieve the goals you want with your blog is essential to cultivate a good image about yourself and show up on the Internet, thus creating an identity blogger consistent, reliable and friendly.
