Google Knows Exactly what I Am Talking on My Blog

The image above show it all, in a recent update on Jan 19, 2011 Google extended my sitelinks from 6 to 8 adding Google, Ramblings and Who The Hell is Frank Kern? to the list.

Those who are wondering what sitelinks are;

The links shown below some sites in Google search results, called sitelinks, are meant to help users navigate your site. Google bots analyze the link structure of your site to find shortcuts that will save users time and allow them to quickly find the information they’re looking for.

Not all the sites have sitelinks, following may be the reason according to Google

If the structure of your site doesn’t allow Google’s algorithms to find good sitelinks, or we don’t think that the sitelinks for your site are relevant for the user’s query, we won’t show them.

Don’t worry if your site haven’t assign sitelinks by Google, keep on writing good stuff around your niche and I am sure you will get it very soon.

These are the few things you can do to get sitelinks from Google

- Important pages of your blog should have several clicks from the homepage;

For this following would be important factor

• Your main categories must have navigation links from your homepage
• You can place a category widgets for visitors to find which are the broad categories of articles you usually writes about. So they will click it from there to get the desire information on related subjects.

- Create internal links in article for broad categories and these links should have descriptive anchor text.

Stop by and look at your blog for a minute; see it from the eyes of a new visitor; dose your homepage have enough links about the main topics that you cover in your blog;

   Congrats for the increament. Well it is very easy for a blog to get sitelinks for the keyword that is mentioned in the domain. Of course the keyword must be low competitive also.

     For this all you have to do is to put link of main ingredient of your blog on front page and get enough click to show Google that you talk about those topics frequently
