Yesterday we learned about how to optimize our WordPress Database by deleting and emptying tables created by various plugins which we are not using currently. If you Missed it here is the Link
Today I will talk about how to delete various versions of your posts called revision posts that are saved in your WordPress database. It will help us reduce extra burden on database space resource.
Each time you edit your posts and “update” it, WordPress save the old version of your post. If you amend a post many time then it occupy precious space in your WordPress database ultimately slowing down the speed.
Example
Once I wrote a post on this blog about offices of big bloggers, showing some really cool images of offices of big boys of blogging. I also asked my readers to send images of their offices so that I can include it in the post. Each time I update the post by uploading an image, WordPress also save the previous version of this post as revision. I did this exercise many time and many version of my post revision were saved in my WordPress database.
Have a look at the image below for better understanding;
In a way it help you to revert changes made in post by publishing previous version of it. WordPress auto save your post revisions but it eat up very useful resource of your WordPress database. No point in keeping all these copies of a post so better after some time you should delete it.

This plugin do cleaning of revision posts saved in your database superbly. it help you delete a large number of redundant revision posts to increase the speed of implementation of the SQL quarries.

Best option: Disable WordPress Revisions completely. Really not required in my opinion.
Its really required. I will not suggest any one to remove it completely. What if you are writing a post on your blog and you saved and published a empty post? In that case, revision will help you to get the backup.
But it hardly happens;
Ya that isn’t such a big risk.
