These are all great tips. Everyone knows that SEO is important but people often forget to pay attention to simple things you mentioned like make sure the colors you use are appealing and don’t send people clicking out of the page at first site. It’s so simple most people just forget about it.
One thing to consider also is which domain host you should get. As for me, a great domain host is the one with unlimited space & transfer and outstanding ‘Control Panel’, which permits you to install your blog with a couple of clicks.
