Facebook’s New Photos Viewer, Why It Still Sucks And How To Get Rid Of It?

Everyone knows that Facebook is trying to bring extra-ordinary and impressive features on its website such as, a new layout, refreshed fan page configuration panel and much better social media power. All of these newly introduced features got a huge appreciation except for its newly rolled out Photo Viewer.

I know that you’re one of those large number of people who really didn’t liked Facebook’s New Photos Viewer, which pop-ups a black  window built on JavaScript to display your photos. If you’re new to Facebook (I think you’re absolutely NOT), then you’ll still not understand what I’m actually talking about.

Now you think yourself that which one is better either the new one or the old. If you still like the new style for viewing photos on Facebook, then you don’t need to read anything written more and could read something else.

So you’re still reading it? :-) Alright, now I’m going to tell you how to get rid of Facebook’s new but poor photo viewer and turn back to the old and clean viewer. Now lets come to the real topic.

Here is the Old Image Viewer

1- You need two things to do this function, which are Firefox 4 and GreaseMonkey Addon for it.

2- You can get GreaseMonkey addon by going to ‘Tools > Add-ons > In the search box in Add-ons tab, type in GreaseMonkey > Simply install the add-on

3- Get this script for GreaseMonkey, ‘Facebook Lightbox Killer’ from here. Lightbox refers to a floating box in Javascripting.

4- When you will find the script, simply click on the ‘install’ button to add this script on GreaseMonkey.

5- Open any of your albums and you can see the older version of Facebook’s Photo Viewer finally.

Well Ramsha the new facebook photoviewer really sucks as my opinion many of us don’t like the new one so its good to return to the old version. And it is very easy to switch the old one after reading your tutorial. Thanks for sharing

Well! Ramsha your tutorial at your place is quite good and good research… But what is the need of such long tutorial when you just want to open a old Photo Viewer by clicking on that specific picture in new window or tab… In my opinion, that is quite much more easier…
