Comments Don’t Bring Traffic

I just completed reading the free report of Leo BabutaHow I get 100,000 subscriber in 2 years: Lessons from Zen Habits well reading the book was fun as I have earlier already read his article, 10 Ways I Got 4,700 Subscribers in Three Months. Not only me but almost every blogger has learned and implemented that commenting on other blogs give us huge traffic. We are all dumb, actually we are misguided even though many bloggers including me has mentioned this trick to get more organic traffic.

Recently I have done an experiment and commented on almost 40 blogs with PR 5-6 and off-course they were do-follow. Later, I checked my traffic referer and by chance there was only 12 comment on the referer list. I think you got what I am trying to say, you too can also try this test and get the shocking results.

We always trust the mature bloggers very much actually that is why if Darren Rowse would ever say to close comments on your every blog, I would do so. And the best thing is that I don’t need any reason also if I observed the same thing on ProBlogger.net

Is it  an Effective Traffic Strategy?

Commenting was easily my top method for finding new readers.

The Above Line is extract from Leo Babuta’s book. Which might have again misguided you. Basically commenting is really not a way to get Traffic he continuously explains this in his book and this time I not only believe but also realize the truth after a long time search and now sharing my experience with you all. The Question which is more concentrated is here is that why you do so and you feel that it worked also and try to prove the myth of comment traffic true but at that time that’s not what gives you traffic basically it is a co-incidence. Actually the real thing is that you and me wants more comments on our blog then commenting more on other Blogs. After reading such posts like comments increase traffic, we spoil our blog in a manner that our focused is switched. And when our focused point is not right and we don’t know that we are wrong them we are on the path of Declining.

Even Today, you can have a debate with me saying and proving me wrong. Whereas the thing is that I still don’t say commenting does really not work or in other words it is how you do it. Some Believe that First is being Fabulous or writing a long and informative comment work too but we forget other simple things like it is not necessary to mention the name like name@tech blog but believe me if your comment is valuable it will already speak out that you are associated with tech. And it takes you almost 15 minutes to read and comment on a Blog while it takes almost the same time for writing a short Guest Post which will give you 80% more Success and for sure 5 to 10 subscriber easily

What’s the true Secret to Growth?

There was only one thing that really mattered for my branding efforts and for the growth of my blog: writing great posts. – Leo

See when you just Write, Write and just write then you can expect Success is near to you. Comments, subscriber, tweets and more would be just like nothing for you. But try to produce Good Demanding Content that would automatically go Viral.

Still Why Should you Comment on a Blog?

I don’t say don’t comment on a Blog or stay quite all over the Internet but don’t comment with the expectation that you will gain what you need through the comments. Comments is way to communicate the author not for link baits. We all have some blogs which just write what you need and with time we became their regular visitor and one can see our face almost on every new article on that Blog. For sure this time I am not wrong and rather than commenting with such foolish comments like “Nice Post” or “Thanks for the Share” I would always recommend you to use your favorite social networking site and build a better community around yourself. Always Comment to Interact not to Gain something and you will get what you are looking for but foe heaven sake don’t make it your Aim.

Do you recommend commenting on other Blogs for link baits, if Yes prove it and if not then do let us know which strategy you use as an alternate to Comments on Blogs.

  1. Hi Ramsha,
Basically, you’re right, but if you use CommentLuv in your comments, can readers see your title on your latest article, with a good, interesting and exciting title, can you draw traffic. And it does not take 15 minutes to write a good guest post with quality . :)

  2. Hi Ramsha,
I read this post. And like to say you are right. If you are using KeywordLuv and CommentLuv then you can drive traffic from blog commenting. :)

  3. I think for me it all depends on many factors. commenting is not just to write something with the sole intention of getting into the top commentator’s list; your comment should also be relevant to the topic and as informative that it can be noticeable also to the other commentators. I think if you can keep that up, you can also drive a considerable amount of traffic because they will also be interested in you or what your site can offer.

  4. this is not the only factor for driving the traffic to your website..there are lots of other factors which affects the traffic.I think commenting on a blog can drive a significantly amount of traffic.
