Blog Action Day 2011
Blog Action Day is now in its forth year. It was started exactly in the year when I founded my blog.
What is Blog Action Day
Since 2007, Blog Action Day has focused bloggers around the world to blog about one important global topic on the same day. Past topics have included water, climate change and poverty. This year, Blog Action Day will be held on October 16, which coincides with World Food Day, so naturally our 2011 theme is FOOD.
I think blogging is a great mean for expressing opinion. The day is not far when blogs will replace the main stream print media. Popular Blog of the worlds has more readers than most popular news paper.
Many bloggers, particularly those engaged in participatory journalism, differentiate themselves from the mainstream media. Some institutions see blogging as a means of “getting around the filter” and pushing messages directly to the public. Bloggers and other contributors to user-generated content are behind Time magazine naming their 2006 person of the year as “You”. This shows user created content and media has immense power and it can bring much needed changes in the society.
This year, Blog Action Day on October 16, coincides with World Food Day, so the theme for Blog action day 2011 is FOOD. I will try my level best to speak about FOOD tomorrow. so wait for my entry and yes, no matter what your blog niche is, up and above all sense of SEO, dedicate one post on this day about FOOD.
